Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD researcher to accelerate the electromagnetic finite element simulation for the design and optimization of electrical machines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Improve and extend the finite element simulation developed by Bosch to enable full code access at all levels.
  • Apply adaptive approaches and parallelization to leverage current trends in science and research.
  • Accelerate finite element simulations to enable faster calculation of e-machine designs and faster product development.
  • Transfer beneficial results of your PhD to the Bosch Business Units and employ them in e-machine product development.
Requirements
  • Excellent university degree in Computational Electromagnetics, Numerical Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or comparable field.
  • Sound knowledge of numerical methods for partial differential equations, such as the FE method, numerical algorithms for solving non-linear and linear systems, and time integration methods.
  • Practical knowledge of object-oriented programming, C++, and Python.
  • Experience with software development tools, including version control with Git and Visual Studio.
Personality and Working Practice
  • Ability to grasp complex issues quickly and achieve set goals efficiently.
  • Enthusiasm for helping to shape the future of electromagnetic simulation of e-machines.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; German is an advantage.
