PhD Researcher in PEM Electrolysis Modeling

We are seeking a highly skilled PhD researcher to join our team at Robert Bosch GmbH. As a PhD researcher in PEM electrolysis modeling, you will play a crucial role in advancing our understanding of low-temperature electrolysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and enhance models of the electrochemical function and performance of the membrane-electrode-assembly (MEA) in PEM electrolyzers.
  • Investigate the complex interplay of physical mechanisms that limit the performance or operation range of the MEA.
  • Collaborate with our internal team and academic environment to share knowledge and results in high-impact journals.
  • Make maximum use of public and internal sources to parametrize and validate your models.
  • Carry out model-based analyses to boost our understanding of cause-effect relationships and identification of improvement measures for our technology.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Strong background in electrochemistry and transport phenomena.
  • Experience with modeling and/or characterization of electrochemical energy storage devices or converters.
  • Programming skills (e.g. Python) and experience with simulation tools (e.g. Comsol) or numerical optimization methods are an advantage.
  • Business fluent in English, German is an advantage.
