About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Energy Systems Engineer to join our Tariff Timer team at gridX. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing state-of-the-art energy management systems (EMS) that optimize energy usage and reduce costs for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Develop EMS Logic: You will be responsible for building and extending the EMS logic at the heart of our Tariff Timer service, utilizing mathematical modeling and software development skills.
  • Drive Optimization Model Development: You will drive the development of time-of-use optimization models and proactively identify shortcomings and bottlenecks in our EMS logic, working closely with the product management team to understand customer needs.
  • Domain Expertise and Mentoring: You will stay up-to-date with the latest challenges and opportunities in the energy systems domain and share your expertise with other engineers in the team, ideally mentoring junior engineers on a regular basis.
Requirements
  • 3+ Years of Experience: You have 3+ years of experience with mathematical modeling of energy systems for simulation analysis or numerical optimization.
  • Numerical Optimization Techniques: You have experience with numerical optimization techniques, including MILP, and can analyze and interpret optimization results for non-experts.
  • Programming Skills: You have intermediate-level skills in at least one modern programming language, such as Python or Go.
  • Data Science Techniques: Brownie points for experience with data science techniques, particularly time series forecasting.
  • Software Development Experience: Brownie points for a strong track record of software development experiences, particularly in distributed software systems.
