Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our Analytics Team within KION Information Management Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and operating robust data pipelines, building data transformations, and developing data quality and governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop data pipelines in Azure Data Factory and Databricks
  • Build data transformations in Databricks and Dremio based on business needs
  • Develop and implement data quality and governance frameworks
  • Support and advise various projects on big data
  • Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to ensure data availability, accuracy, and quality
  • Advice and consult business partners to use data efficiently
  • Develop and maintain scalable and efficient ETL processes
  • User support, incident, and change management for applications and services
  • Operate and support KION Analytics Platform architecture and corresponding toolset
  • Monitor and analyze data and metrics of the platform
  • Create and maintain documentation and training materials for platform users
  • Support and advise various projects related to Analytics and AI, especially Generative AI and Machine Vision
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in data engineering, data management, or related field
  • Good understanding of data, databases, and data lakes in general
  • Experience with cloud-based data storage and processing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
  • Strong proficiency in a programming language (preferably Python, SQL, Powershell, Bash)
  • Experience with IoT Data and related technologies (e.g., Kafka)
  • Proficiency in professional software development (testing, Git, CI/CD)
  • Good understanding of data, databases, and data lakes in general - vector and/or neuronal databases as a plus
  • Experience with cloud-based data storage and processing platforms (e.g., preferably experience with e.g., GCP Vertex AI, Azure AI Studio and others)
  • Experience with creating solutions within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues
  • Motivation to think out of the box coupled with a hands-on mentality
  • Very good knowledge of English and good communication skills
  • Proven track record of delivering value from data
