About the Role

The Business Controller (m/w/d) plays a crucial role in supporting the Basic Material & Polymers business with professional-level controlling duties. Focused on the European value chain, this position involves raw material sourcing, toll compounding, and Marketing/Sales activities, providing responsible staff assistance to assigned business management staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Financial Strategy and Planning
  • Sparring partner and adviser for business leadership, financial department, and external contractors
  • Providing advice on further value chain optimization
  • Direct contact for auditors
  • Assisting business leadership in key financial decisions
  • Supporting contract framing
  • Providing financial impact calculations for midterm strategy scenarios
  • Acting as an interface between the Business and Finance
  • Assisting in preparation and monitoring financial budgets and rolling forecasts
  • Following accounting procedures to ensure compliance with legal guidelines
  • Completing regular financial analysis and identifying financial risks
  • Performing economic and sales forecasting
  • Analyzing sales and value stream performance
  • Managing financial data to support decision-making
  • Monthly reporting to headquarters and internal business management
  • Creating and maintaining reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support decision-making
  • Identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) and tracking metrics to measure business performance

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a comparable discipline
  • Extensive plant controller and accounting experience
  • At least 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in controlling and budgeting with increasing responsibility
  • Experience with multi-national companies and cultural diversity
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to assimilate complex data and information
  • Proficient in business analysis tools and techniques
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment
  • Business fluent in English and German
  • ERP system experience (preferably SAP)
