Area of Responsibility:
Within the CEO Division, the Group ESG Strategy (GES) team is tasked with formulating and overseeing Deutsche Börse Group's sustainable initiatives. This encompasses the management of the company's ESG endeavors (e.g., climate strategy, Group Sustainability Committee), the assessment and documentation of ESG performance indicators, the support of various business units in creating ESG-related products and markets, as well as the internal and external communication of strategies and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and assess trends in ESG (environmental, social, and governance) and sustainability regulations
- Develop and refine sustainability and climate strategies in accordance with the ESG framework at both Group and divisional levels
- Monitor and enhance ESG initiatives at the Group level (e.g., KPIs related to climate strategy and measures aimed at achieving Net Zero goals)
- Independently create, continuously improve, and coordinate essential ESG processes (e.g., materiality assessments, value chain analysis, opportunity management)
- Prepare ESG reports for executive decision-making and board presentations
- Optimize processes and identify opportunities concerning sustainability issues
- Manage and coordinate ESG ratings that are pertinent to executive compensation at Deutsche Börse
Candidate Profile:
- Degree in Business Administration, Sustainability Management, or a related field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in sustainability, preferably in strategic management consulting, auditing, or the financial sector
- Proficient in sustainability strategy formulation and execution, carbon management (GHG Protocol, SBTi), corporate due diligence (social impact assessments, impact measurement), and familiar with developments in corporate sustainability reporting (EU CSRD, TCFD, SASB, GRI)
- Strong analytical capabilities and a structured, solution-oriented approach
- Proven project management abilities, assertiveness, resilience, and a strong focus on service and customer satisfaction
- Excellent skills in developing presentations and the ability to convey complex information in an understandable manner
- Strong communication skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels (including executive board, senior management, team members, and both internal and external business partners)
- Team-oriented with the ability to work in a matrix organization within a multicultural, international context, demonstrating high initiative, commitment, and motivation
- Proficient in both German and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills
