**Job Summary**
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Installation Specialist to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As an Electrical Installation Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, modifying, repairing, and testing electrical systems, circuits, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lay out work, preparing detailed drawings and sketches as needed.
- Read and interpret building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical maintenance and repair manuals.
- Determine the amount, type, and measurement of needed materials, selecting and obtaining them from appropriate sources.
- Inspect and ensure enforcement of safety codes and calculate power requirements.
- Install, modify, repair, troubleshoot, and test new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment.
- Perform all electrical installations in newly built offices, warehouses, workshops, and other buildings.
- Determine, arrange, place, and route distribution panels, boxes, circuits, fittings, connections, and controls.
- Determine the type, size, and arrangement of wiring, conduit, fixtures, transformers, generators, and other electrical devices, and install them.
- Fabricate components as required.
- Render technical advice and guidance to personnel in lower grades and perform on-the-job training during major or new installations.
- Perform meter readings on a regular basis to support O&M utilities branch.
Requirements:
- Completed vocational training of at least 30 months in the appropriate trade.
- 5 years of specialized experience, or
- Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade PLUS 2 years experience at a level of difficulty comparable to the Wage Group 5 or equivalent, or
- 8 years of specialized experience of which 3 years must have been performed at the wage group 5 or equivalent level.
- German driver's license class B.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift operator license.
- English Language Proficiency level A1 and German Language Proficiency level B1 required.
Working Conditions:
- Occasional TDY (Temporary Duty Travel) within Germany.
- Working on weekends, Sundays, and holidays, as well as shift work required.
- On-Call duty required.
- Lifting and carrying up to 45 lbs required.
