Electrical Installation Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Installation Specialist to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As an Electrical Installation Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, modifying, repairing, and testing electrical systems, circuits, and equipment in various settings.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and lay out work, preparing detailed drawings and sketches as needed
- Read and interpret building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings
- Determine the amount, type, and measurement of needed materials, selecting and obtaining them from appropriate sources
- Inspect and ensure enforcement of safety codes, calculating power requirements
- Install, modify, repair, troubleshoot, and test electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, controls, and equipment
- Perform electrical installations in newly built offices, warehouses, workshops, and other buildings
- Determine, arrange, place, and route distribution panels, boxes, circuits, fittings, connections, and controls
- Determine the type, size, and arrangement of wiring, conduit, fixtures, transformers, generators, and other electrical devices, and install them
- Fabricate components as required
- Render technical advice and guidance to personnel in lower grades and perform on-the-job training during major or new installations
- Perform meter readings on a regular basis to support O&M utilities branch
- Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade with a duration of at least 30 months
- 5 years of specialized experience, or
- Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade with a duration of at least 30 months, plus 2 years of experience at a level of difficulty comparable to the Wage Group 5 or equivalent, or
- 8 years of specialized experience, of which at least 3 years must have been performed at the wage group 5 or equivalent level
English Language Proficiency level A1 and German Language Proficiency level B1 required
Working Conditions:The incumbent of this position is occasionally required to perform TDY (Temporary Duty Travel). Working on weekends, Sundays, and holidays, as well as shift work, is required. On-Call duty is also required. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 45 lbs.
