Lead Wind Project Developer

Mission
Your primary responsibility will be to spearhead initiatives for future wind energy projects, adhering to company protocols to enhance and support the wind energy portfolio in alignment with business objectives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate new project sites through personal research and collaboration with the GIS Team.
  • Build and maintain a network of land scouts and project originators within Germany.
  • Assess potential projects for integration into the EDP development framework.
  • Negotiate and secure land leases to facilitate project development.
  • Act as the company representative with local stakeholders, ensuring project viability and community support.
  • Initiate the environmental permitting process, coordinating with licensed planning offices and internal resources.

Qualifications
1. Educational Background

  • Degree from a School of Management or a University.
  • Relevant apprenticeship with a qualification from the Chamber of Commerce.
  • Additional academic credentials are advantageous but not required.
2. Professional Experience
  • 8-12 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly in wind development within the DACH region.
  • Proven skills in project origination and effective cross-cultural communication.
  • 2-3 years of experience in wind project development, including community engagement and environmental permitting in Germany.
  • Experience in greenfield development and technical expertise in wind energy.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a genuine interest in renewable energy.
  • Familiarity with the German regulatory landscape and its complexities.
  • Effective communication skills with landowners and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive in creating new opportunities within EDP's operational framework.
3. Specialized Knowledge
  • Understanding of BImSch Regulations, EEG, KraftNAV, and BESS is beneficial.
4. Location
  • Position based in northern Germany.
  • EDP is developing an Office Hub to facilitate a hybrid work model.
5. Language Proficiency
  • Fluency in German and English is required.
  • Knowledge of additional languages, such as Spanish, is a plus.
6. Skills and Competencies
  • Valid A2 driving license.
  • Willingness to travel within the national territory.
  • Represent EDP at industry fairs and conferences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Strong presentation skills.
