Position Overview
The primary responsibility of this role is to spearhead initiatives for the development of future wind energy facilities, adhering to company protocols to enhance and support our wind energy portfolio in alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess new potential sites through targeted research and collaboration with public and private stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain a network of land scouts and project originators within Germany.
  • Evaluate projects for integration into the EDP development framework.
  • Negotiate and secure land agreements through lease promises.
  • Act as the company representative with local stakeholders, government entities, and communities to ensure project viability.
  • Initiate and manage the environmental permitting process, coordinating with planning offices and internal resources.

Candidate Profile
1. Educational Background

  • Degree from a Management School or University.
  • Relevant apprenticeship with a qualification from the Chamber of Commerce.
  • Additional academic credentials are advantageous but not essential.
2. Professional Experience
  • 8-12 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, specifically in wind development within the DACH region.
  • Proven skills in project origination and effective communication across diverse cultures.
  • 2-3 years of experience in wind project development or similar roles involving community engagement and environmental permitting in Germany.
  • Experience in greenfield development and technical expertise in the wind energy sector.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and a strong interest in renewable energy.
  • Familiarity with the German regulatory framework and its associated challenges.
  • Ability to engage effectively with landowners and senior executives.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Drive to create new opportunities within EDP's operational guidelines.

3. Specialized Knowledge

  • Understanding of BImSch Regulations, EEG, KraftNAV, and BESS is beneficial.
4. Technical Skills
Proficiency in all MS Applications and specific project management tools.

5. Location
This position is based in northern Germany, with plans for a flexible office hub to support a combination of remote and office work.

6. Language Proficiency

  • Fluency in German and English is required.
  • Knowledge of additional languages, such as Spanish, is a plus.

7. Skills and Competencies

  • Valid A2 driving license.
  • Willingness to travel nationally.
  • Ability to represent EDP at industry events and conferences.
  • Team-oriented yet capable of independent work.
  • Strong presentation skills.
