Research Position in Clinical Cognitive Neuroscience

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Magdeburg. Our research group focuses on understanding the functional architecture of cognitive functions, particularly human memory and the medial temporal lobe, using structural and functional MRI at 3 and 7 Tesla.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses on neuroimaging and cognitive data
  • Prepare and apply advanced statistical models to understand the sequence of changes in early stages of neurodegenerative diseases
  • Develop novel experimental task paradigms and code/program statistical analyses
  • Collaborate with other groups at the DZNE and external institutes to advance research goals
  • Present research findings at international conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals

Requirements:

  • PhD in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, biostatistics, medicine, or related fields
  • Experience in human neuroimaging and image analyses (e.g. SPM, ANTS, FSL)
  • Experience in longitudinal modeling of neuroimaging and neuropsychological data
  • Programming skills in R, Matlab, Python, or Shell scripting
  • Experimental task design and experiment programming experience
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Peer-reviewed publications and a track record of research excellence
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
