Position Overview:
The research will be conducted within the framework of an EU consortium focused on SynMech. This role involves utilizing optogenetics to trigger epilepsy, alongside two-photon Ca2+ imaging and electrophysiology to observe neuronal activity. Additionally, targeted magnetogenetic stimulation will be employed to address dysfunctional neural circuits, aiming to either inhibit epileptogenesis or facilitate recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct advanced research in the area of molecular neuroplasticity.
- Utilize two-photon imaging techniques in awake rodent models, with a strong emphasis on documented publications in reputable scientific journals.
- Engage in electrophysiological studies and optogenetic methodologies.
- Prepare and manage animal experimentation requests in compliance with German regulations (TVA).
- Contribute to programming tasks as needed.
- Collaborate effectively within a dynamic and creative research team.
