Finance and Project Control Expert

POSITION OVERVIEW

Key Responsibilities
  • Take the initiative in establishing and maintaining project budgets alongside project managers, challenge assumptions, and track actual performance against the budget.
  • Oversee and regulate pertinent project processes and documentation (including compliance, procurement, subcontracts, audits, insurance, and project risks).
  • Ensure timely delivery of project outcomes for monthly and quarterly reports, including financial forecasts.
  • Gather, assess, and interpret relevant financial and project data to uncover opportunities for enhancement and identify trends.
  • Collaborate with various teams to develop, implement, and refine relevant procedures and processes aimed at boosting efficiency.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and provide insights and recommendations for improvements in finance, compliance, contracts, and more.
  • Bridge communication between finance department needs and colleagues lacking financial expertise.
  • Report within our matrix structure to the Country Business Controller and department leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, specializing in Controlling, Business Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in project controlling, preferably within an engineering or construction environment.
  • Strong understanding of legal frameworks (VOB A/B and HOAI) and Claim Management.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and drafting.
  • Proactive approach, meticulous attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
  • Fluency in both German and English, written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
