Accounting and Finance Trainee

We are seeking a driven Finance and Accounting Intern (m/f/d) to become a part of our finance team within our portfolio company.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with our finance and accounting departments, assisting in essential financial operations while gaining valuable experience in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance. This internship will expose you to various finance and accounting activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, and auditing.
Our portfolio company, established in 2021 and headquartered in Berlin, operates an innovative marketplace that transforms one of the largest supply chains globally. The mission is to unlock the immense potential of cross-border supply for the Western Market by offering global access to high-quality products through a cutting-edge platform. Since its inception, the company has discreetly served numerous clients without a public profile.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in preparing financial documents, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Support financial analysis by collecting and interpreting financial data to identify trends and areas for enhancement.
- Maintain precise financial records and ensure adherence to regulatory standards and accounting principles.
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable by processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Contribute to tax filing and compliance tasks, including gathering necessary documentation and completing forms.
- Work with cross-functional teams (Growth, Operations, Tech) to support financial projects and initiatives as required.
- Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Proficient in German and possess good English language skills.
- Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data and derive meaningful insights.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
- Familiarity with accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective teamwork.
- Detail-oriented with robust organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Proactive mindset and eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment.
Please note that we are looking for support in our Berlin office. Eligibility to work within the EU is a requirement.
