Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer to join our Advanced Bionics Research Center in Hannover. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our implant technology group's mission to research, develop, and characterize novel designs, tools, materials, and processes for future cochlear internal implant products.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop software for a new medical imaging software, implementing new features and setting up related clinical studies.
- Collaborate with external developers and suppliers to develop a commercial imaging software.
- Design and assess new features for next-generation cochlear implant imaging software, performing software testing according to software testing lifecycle standards.
- Analyze software requirements to determine potential issues and build specification documents.
- Discuss new clinical study ideas with internal and external partners, including surgeons, audiologists, and radiologists.
- Support the setup of new studies with clinical partners and provide end-user support, including setup, installation, and maintenance.
- Discuss study results with clinical partners and internal stakeholders, providing regular updates to management.
- BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.
- At least 3 years' experience in medical imaging, with working experience in Python, C#, and Matlab.
- Experience with standards (DICOM, HL7, JSON) and libraries (VTK/ITK, MONAI) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, assertiveness, and ability to dialog with external partners.
- Willingness to travel internationally on occasion (10-20%).
- English: excellent written/oral communication skills; fluency in one or more additional European language(s) is a plus.
