Research Staff (m/f/d) in Landscape Architecture and Planning

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Staff (m/f/d) to join our team at the Institute for Open Space Planning and Design. The successful candidate will be part of the Urban Climate Future Lab (UCFL), a pioneering research initiative that aims to gain a deep understanding of the complex interplay between urbanization, climate impact, and mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in landscape architecture and planning, focusing on the analysis of climate impact of different types of urban open spaces.
  • Collaborate with researchers from various fields within UCFL and the project lead (ISU).
  • Author publications and present interim results of the doctorate.
  • Participate in the UCFL research, graduate study programme, and joint activities.
Requirements:
  • University degree in landscape architecture, environmental planning, or a similar subject.
  • Profound experience in analyzing different types of open spaces.
  • Proficient in geographic information systems (ArcGIS, QGIS) and raster/vector graphics programs.
  • Excellent command of German and English languages.
  • High interest in inter- and transdisciplinary exchange and communication skills.
  • Passion for academic writing and ability to work independently and in a team.
