Cleaning Specialist (Housekeeping) Location: Germany Eligibility Criteria

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

INTERNAL Local National Employees in Germany. This includes all local employees of the U.S. Forces in Germany, covering all branches including the Air Force.

AND

EXTERNAL Local National Applicants residing in Germany.

This position is funded through Nonappropriated Funds.

Key Responsibilities

The Cleaning Specialist performs various tasks either independently or as part of a team:

1. Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, and waxes floors using lightweight cleaning equipment.

2. Cleans and disinfects restrooms, including toilets and sinks, and maintains cleanliness of mirrors and water fountains.

3. Dusts furniture, replenishes restroom supplies, and ensures a tidy environment.

4. Reports maintenance issues such as broken windows or leaks to the supervisor.

5. Cleans assigned areas including corridors and stairways, utilizing appropriate cleaning tools and solutions.

6. Maintains cleanliness of office furniture and disposes of waste appropriately.

7. Washes walls, windows, and other surfaces, often requiring the use of ladders.

8. In residential areas, makes beds, changes linens, and manages laundry.

9. Ensures an adequate supply of cleaning materials and informs the supervisor when replenishment is needed.

10. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Level H:

Education & Training Level I: No prior experience required.

Exception: Applicants not meeting Level I must have at least one year of experience in hospitality, service industries, or similar roles.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:

Basic proficiency in English and German (A1 level) is required.

• This is a temporary part-time position (30 hours/week) until the return of the permanent employee.

• Weekend, holiday, and Sunday work may be required.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs is necessary.
