Your Role
We are in search of a dedicated software security expert to uphold a high standard of security across all KNIME software offerings. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Enhancing awareness of software security within KNIME, particularly within the software development sector.
- Facilitating internal training sessions and workshops focused on software security themes, such as leading discussions on the OWASP Top Ten.
- Overseeing the application and updating of external libraries utilized within KNIME software, which includes monitoring CVEs and collaborating with product owners to implement necessary updates.
- Working closely with software architects to ensure adherence to software security best practices.
- Conducting periodic internal penetration assessments of the KNIME Hub software and its infrastructure.
- Coordinating external penetration testing efforts, including follow-ups with product owners to ensure all identified issues are documented and resolved.
- Managing the tracking of KNIME-related CVEs and communicating their status to the customer care team.
- Collaborating with corporate IT on matters concerning security, compliance, and certification.
Who You Are
You are a seasoned application security professional with a strong commitment to software security. Specifically, you possess:
- A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience as an application security engineer.
- In-depth technical knowledge of applied cryptography, standard security methodologies, authentication and authorization standards, vulnerabilities, and remediation strategies.
- A keen interest in software security research and a commitment to staying updated on industry developments.
- A comprehensive understanding of web applications and microservice architectures.
- Software development experience in Java, Golang, or Python.
- Proficient English language skills, both written and spoken; knowledge of German is advantageous.
