We are in search of a Software Security Specialist who will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining high security standards across all KNIME software offerings. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in application security and a commitment to enhancing software integrity.
Key Responsibilities- Promote awareness of software security principles within KNIME, particularly among the software development teams.
- Facilitate internal training sessions and workshops on software security topics, including leading discussions on the OWASP Top Ten vulnerabilities.
- Oversee the management and updating of external libraries utilized in KNIME software, ensuring timely responses to CVEs and collaboration with product owners for necessary updates.
- Collaborate closely with software architects to uphold best practices in software security.
- Conduct periodic internal penetration testing of KNIME Hub software and its infrastructure.
- Coordinate external penetration testing efforts, ensuring that all identified vulnerabilities are tracked and resolved in collaboration with product owners.
- Manage the tracking of KNIME-related CVEs and communicate their status to the customer care team.
- Work in conjunction with corporate IT to address security, compliance, and certification matters.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience as an application security engineer.
- In-depth knowledge of applied cryptography, standard security methodologies, and best practices in authentication and authorization.
- Familiarity with the Secure Software Development Lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of web applications and microservices architecture.
- Proficiency in software development using Java, Golang, or Python.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of German is advantageous.
