As a Test Manager/Validation Lead in Engineering IT solutions, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of new engineering IT solutions within the framework of System Lifecycle Management (SLM) and the Engineering Eco-System. Your contributions will support the digital transformation initiatives aimed at achieving a Product Digital Twin and Digital Thread, utilizing industry-leading technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and estimate comprehensive Test Strategies, including Dry Runs and Testing efforts during feasibility assessments.
- Establish Test strategies for new or enhanced features in Polarion, focusing on Requirements Engineering, Verification Engineering, and Traceability for FMC Development Projects.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of IT Solutions Requirements and Implementations, while continuously improving the Test Suite and ensuring high-quality Validation.
- Plan, execute, and coordinate Dry Runs with a dedicated team of Testers.
- Oversee the official testing and validation of implemented solutions prior to deployments, ensuring alignment with Test Planning for interfacing tools.
- Manage the evaluation of failed Test Protocols, providing reports to System Owners and Business Application Owners for informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with external partners throughout all Testing phases.
- Validate against documented requirements, working closely with Requirements Engineers, solution architects, and Technical Writers.
- Ensure the highest standards of Test Strategy, Dry Runs, and Validation processes.
- Contribute to the documentation of the Testing components within the Engineering IT solutions Delivery Approach.
- Review Test Protocols and participate in risk assessments related to Computer Software Assurance.
- Assist in the creation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of Tool Validation.
- Support overall program and release planning by providing accurate estimates.
- Act as a Quality Gate for implementations following Requirements Engineering and Development.
- Draft and execute Test Protocols as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A university degree or higher in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, or software), Business Administration, IT, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in an international business context.
- At least 2 years of experience in the validation of IT systems used in R&D or development across various industries, including medical devices, automotive, industrial equipment, aerospace, or consumer goods.
- Proven experience in program and project management, including tracking and reporting key metrics, alongside strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with common PLM/ALM tools is preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in digital technology, IoT, and IT applications across multiple projects.
- Ability to structure complex topics and drive results effectively.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to navigate ambiguity with ease.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex matters simply and effectively.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English and German.
