Network Infrastructure Engineer for Trading Systems

Overview of the Role:
The Network Engineering Trading Team plays a pivotal role in establishing and enhancing Deutsche Börse AG's global trading networks. Our dedicated professionals are committed to delivering top-tier trading data to clients, whether through colocation facilities or via leased lines at various access points.
We are currently seeking a network engineer (m/f) to assist in the maintenance and advancement of our colocation infrastructure, where exceptional standards of equity are paramount. This entails ensuring the provision of world-class infrastructure, including
specifically, standardized fiber optic cabling and appropriate switch hardware components that must be selected, tested, and deployed. Continuous optimization of the infrastructure is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct research, design, and further development of the physical network infrastructure. Execute measurements of interconnection links for accurate length determination. Perform practical tasks within the data center, such as measuring cable lengths to guarantee quality, installing new devices, and managing cabling/patches. Develop automated testing scenarios and tools for evaluating and monitoring customer connections. Ensure the operational stability of the assigned area of responsibility. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation and procedures for measurements within the colocation network, ensuring adherence to established protocols. Provide consultancy services to other departments and assist in the implementation of various product vendors and technologies. Offer escalation support as necessary, following established processes and collaborating effectively with other departments and end users.

Candidate Profile:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in data center infrastructure. Proven hands-on experience in network technology. Fundamental knowledge in networking. Familiarity with time synchronization concepts such as NTP, PTP, WR-PTP, and PPS. Strong understanding of physical infrastructure including TAP, fiber optic cables, and coaxial cables. Proficient in using measuring devices such as OTDR and cable testers. Experience with documentation tools related to cable management is highly advantageous. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team. Capacity to operate in a critical production environment, including performing regular installations on weekends. Willingness to take on responsibility.
