Network Engineer for High Frequency Trading Environment

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team at Deutsche Börse AG. As a Network Engineer for High Frequency Trading Environment, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving our global trading networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain the physical network infrastructure to support high-frequency trading operations.
  • Conduct measurements of interconnection links to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Perform hands-on tasks in the data centre, including cable installation and testing.
  • Develop automated test scenarios and tools to monitor customer connections.
  • Ensure the operational stability of the network infrastructure.
  • Document and maintain detailed procedures for network measurements and maintenance.
  • Provide consultancy services to other departments and support the implementation of new technologies.
  • Escalate issues as required, following established processes and collaborating with other teams.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in DC infrastructure and network technology.
  • Proven experience in network design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of network protocols and technologies.
  • Knowledge of time concepts, including NTP, PTP, and PPS.
  • Good understanding of physical infrastructure, including TAPs, fibre optic cables, and coax cables.
  • Experience with measuring devices, such as OTDRs and cable testers.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a critical production environment and perform regular installations on weekends.
  • Willingness to take on responsibility and learn new technologies.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English; German is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
