Network Infrastructure Engineer for Trading Systems

Overview of the Role:
Our expert team, located in various international hubs, serves as a dependable service provider for both internal and external clients. The Network Engineering Trading Team is tasked with the design and construction of Deutsche Börse's global trading networks. We ensure the seamless delivery of trading data to our clients, whether they are co-located in our facilities or connected through leased lines at designated access points.
We are currently seeking a network engineer (m/f) to assist in maintaining and enhancing our colocation infrastructure. Upholding the highest standards of fairness is essential in this role. This is achieved through the provision of world-class infrastructure, including
specifically, standardized fiber optic cabling and appropriate switch hardware components that must be selected, tested, and deployed. Continuous optimization of the infrastructure is imperative.

Key Responsibilities:

Research, design, further development, and implementation of the physical network infrastructure Conduct measurements of interconnection links for length verification Execute practical tasks within the data center, such as measuring cable lengths to ensure quality, installing new devices, and managing cabling/patches Develop automated testing scenarios and tools for monitoring customer connections Ensure operational stability within your area of responsibility Create and maintain comprehensive documentation and procedures for measurements in the colocation network, ensuring compliance with established protocols. Provide consultancy services to other departments and assist in the implementation of various vendor products and technologies. Offer escalation support as necessary by adhering to processes and engaging appropriately with other departments and end users

Candidate Profile:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in data center infrastructure Demonstrated practical experience in network technology Fundamental knowledge in networking Familiarity with time synchronization concepts such as NTP, PTP, WR-PTP, and PPS Strong understanding of physical infrastructure including TAP, fiber optic cables, and coaxial cables Proficient in using measuring devices such as OTDR and cable testers Experience with documentation tools related to cable management is highly advantageous Excellent communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively within a team Capability to operate in a critical production environment; availability for regular installations during weekends Readiness to assume responsibility Eagerness to acquire knowledge of new technologies Proficient in written and spoken English; knowledge of German is a plus Willingness to travel (
