Ship Superintendent

About the Role
Carnival Corporation and plc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ship Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our marine operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the planning and execution of technical operations, including maintenance, repairs, and modifications, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Oversee the implementation of safety and environmental protection measures, working closely with onboard and shore-based teams to ensure a culture of safety and compliance.
- Collaborate with HR to evaluate and develop the skills of shipboard personnel, ensuring they have the necessary training and support to perform their duties effectively.
- Prepare and support audits and inspections, ensuring that all findings are documented and followed up on in a timely manner.
- Conduct technical inspections onboard and manage the follow-up and reporting of vessel status.
- Develop and manage budgets for assigned ships, ensuring that costs are controlled and optimized.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical or Ship Technical engineering, or equivalent.
- At least 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of marine operations and technical management.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and budgeting processes.
- Junior leadership experience and the ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Clear and concise communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Very good English language skills, as this is our company language.
