About the Role
Carnival Corporation and plc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Ship Superintendent. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading global cruise company and be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the planning and execution of technical operations, including maintenance, daily activities, improvements, and technical modifications for assigned ships.
- Oversee the safety and environmental protection culture, working closely with onboard and shore-based teams, including cruise governance and DPA.
- Collaborate with HR to evaluate and develop shipboard personnel, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Prepare and support audits and inspections, following up on findings and documenting them in the relevant systems.
- Conduct technical inspections onboard and manage the follow-up and reporting of vessel status.
- Develop and manage budgets for assigned ships, ensuring effective use of resources.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical or Ship Technical engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or equivalent.
- Maritime practice knowledge desirable.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Onboard work experience.
- Understanding of basic accounting and ability to devise and manage budgets.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Junior leadership experience.
- Clear communication skills, both verbally and in written format.
- Very good English language skills (as this is our company language).
