PhD Student Position in Applied Analysis and Stochastics

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our research group in Applied Analysis and Stochastics at the Weierstraß-Institut für Angewandte Analysis und Stochastik. The successful candidate will work on mathematical modeling and optimization of powder bed-based processes for metallic 3D printing.
The PhD student will be part of a dynamic and international research team and will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of topics in applied mathematics, including mathematical modeling, nonlinear optimization, and inverse problems. The research will be carried out in close collaboration with the 3D printing laboratory of the Technical University of Berlin.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics, particularly in mathematical modeling, nonlinear optimization, and analysis of partial differential equations. Previous experience in the analytical or numerical treatment of direct or inverse problems in thermomechanics is an advantage.
