Business Development Manager - Rail Sector (m/w/d)

We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic Business Development Manager specializing in the Rail sector to enhance our market presence in the EMEA region. This role can be performed remotely or from our Krefeld office. As a pivotal member of our team, you will spearhead customer acquisition and growth initiatives within the Rail/Transportation industry, in alignment with our ambitious global growth objectives. Your expertise in sales, combined with a technical and project-focused approach, will be essential in persuading clients to transition to our latest generation of Cattron radio remote controls. Furthermore, you will provide guidance on current standards, encryption technologies, and Safety Integrity Levels (SIL).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive market share growth through targeted strategies for key accounts and customers
  • Ensure optimal product placement and market penetration
  • Identify and explore new business opportunities, sales channels, and partnerships
  • Enhance existing business areas
  • Recognize and develop new product opportunities while considering market demands
  • Formulate and execute sales strategies to accelerate growth
  • Assist the organization in adapting to evolving economic landscapes
  • Generate market trend forecasts
  • Establish strategic partnerships
  • Develop comprehensive business plans and strategies
  • Monitor performance and provide regular reporting
  • Take responsibility for meeting sales objectives
  • Analyze competitive dynamics
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows and sales events
Required Qualifications:
  • A degree or equivalent training in electrical engineering or related fields, such as telecommunications or industrial engineering
  • At least five years of relevant experience in a similar role, demonstrating strong interpersonal and organizational capabilities
  • Ability to think analytically to understand complex requirements and devise effective solutions
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and creativity in developing new business avenues
  • Strong negotiation skills and excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency in both German and English, written and spoken
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Willingness to travel frequently (approximately 50% of working time) for client meetings
