Climate Action Engagement Specialist

Drive Climate Action in Europe

The Science Based Targets initiative is seeking a skilled Engagement Manager to lead regional partnerships and drive the adoption of science-based targets in Europe. As a key member of our team, you will design and deliver strategic engagement initiatives to foster collaboration and co-creation of insight initiatives with corporations, industry associations, and NGOs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and manage regional partnerships with founding partners (WWF, CDP, WRI, UNGC, and WMB) to promote science-based targets and leverage their reach and relationships.
  • Identify and establish new partnerships with priority markets and sectors to support the adoption of science-based targets.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with corporations, industry associations, sustainability consultants, and NGOs to foster collaboration and co-creation of insight initiatives.
  • Design and implement market insight programs, including surveys, round-tables, and listening sessions, to build uptake of science-based targets in Europe.
  • Undertake special projects to promote high-ambition corporate climate action in the region, such as engaging companies in collaborative projects that showcase their performance or lessons learned.
Requirements:
  • Degree in business administration, external/public relations, international relations, marketing, sustainability, environmental science, economics, or a related field.
  • Excellent public speaking skills and proven ability to interact with different level representatives from private, nonprofit, and public sectors.
  • Ability to work flexible work hours due to the international nature of the work.
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in French, German, Spanish, and Italian is a plus.
