User Engagement and Partnerships Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled User Engagement and Partnerships Specialist to join our team at ECMWF. As a key member of our User Outreach and Engagement Section, you will play a crucial role in preparing for and implementing emerging standards for climate services.
As a specialist in user engagement and partnerships, you will work closely with our team to develop strategies and recommendations for climate services standardisation. You will engage with external partners and stakeholders, including those involved in the Climateurope2 project, to ensure that our climate services meet the evolving needs of users.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the contribution of ECMWF to the strategy and recommendations report of the Climateurope2 project
- Engaging with downstream climate service providers on standardisation aspects
- Identifying and reporting on emerging service standardisation needs relevant for C3S and ECMWF
- Supporting the coordination and implementation of emerging requirements to inform the evolution of C3S
You will also work closely with our User Services Section to ensure seamless integration of user requirements analysis and implementation.
Occasional travel to other ECMWF offices and to Member States, Co-operating States, and EU member states may be required.
What We're Looking ForWe're seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in user engagement and partnerships. Key requirements include:
- Accountability, strong planning skills, and capacity to deliver according to objectives
- Excellent networking skills and ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to multi-task, handle multiple projects, and drive tasks to completion against tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Education: An advanced university degree (EQF Level 7 or above) in Meteorology, Climate Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or a similar relevant scientific discipline.
Experience: Very solid understanding of the scientific aspects underpinning climate data products, as well as of their relevance in national and European policy contexts. Good insights into the ecosystem of public and private climate services markets in Europe and linked data value chains.

Candidates must be able to work effectively in English. A good knowledge of one of the Centre's other working languages (French or German) is an advantage.
