Payroll Manager

Via is a global employer that's transforming transportation around the world. As our Payroll Manager for Germany, you'll play a critical role in shaping the payroll function of our rapidly expanding organization in Europe.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive the monthly payroll process for Via in Germany, working closely with our external payroll partner and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely reflection of payroll submissions.
- Stay up-to-date on German tax requirements, changes in wage and tax laws, and other regulatory changes that may impact payroll.
- Perform periodic audits of our payroll data to ensure accuracy of employee pay information, designing and implementing process improvements and internal controls as needed.
- Ensure benefit deductions and tax withholdings are calculated and reported timely and accurately.
- Lead all aspects of the monthly financial reporting process as it relates to payroll, including preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Serve as the main point-of-contact for employees on questions relating to pay.
- Perform ad-hoc projects and other assignments as needed to support the broader team.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant payroll experience in Germany.
- Tech-savvy, with a strong understanding of HRIS systems like P&I Loga and proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to perform payroll tasks completely, accurately, and timely, with minimum supervision.
- Passionate about improving processes and developing innovative solutions.
- You don't shy away from the details, and you're committed to completing each task with the highest degree of accuracy.
- Have demonstrated experience in partnering with internal teams and juggling multiple priorities.
- Great written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate across different levels of our organization.
- Fluent in German and English, additional languages are a plus.

- Base salary range: €60-75k plus stock options. Final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience, knowledge, and skills.
