PhD Researcher in Nitride Heterostructures

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our team at the Paul Drude Institut Berlin. The successful candidate will work on the design and molecular beam epitaxy of polar group III-nitride heterostructures for novel electronic devices utilizing polarization engineering.
The project focuses on the growth of nitride heterostructures by molecular beam epitaxy, sample characterization by x-ray diffractometry, atomic force microscopy, and Hall-effect and C-V measurements, and band diagram simulation using 1D Poisson-Schrödinger solver.
Your Responsibilities- Design and growth of nitride heterostructures by molecular beam epitaxy
- Sample characterization and analysis
- Band diagram simulation and data analysis
- Presentation of results at conferences and in publications
- Master degree in physics, electrical engineering, materials science, or a related field
- Preferentially background in device physics or nanotechnology
- Experience with device fabrication is advantageous
- Modern laboratories with a wide range of experimental techniques
