Lead Construction Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • You will act as the representative for Construction & Commissioning in bids and contractual agreements, ensuring effective communication with Project Management, Engineering, and Procurement teams.
  • Your role includes overseeing pre-construction processes such as Construction Engineering, Material Management, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, and Completion Management.
  • You will create and refine the Construction Execution Plan in close collaboration with various disciplines.
  • Developing and updating the site organization chart and personnel engagement strategy will be part of your duties.
  • You will manage the budget for temporary site facilities, site supervision, commissioning personnel, and pre-construction tasks.
  • Your responsibilities extend to providing Construction & Commissioning insights for the development and awarding of subcontracts.
  • You will oversee site mobilization, including the design and timely establishment of temporary facilities.
  • Coordinating the mobilization of subcontractors to the site will be essential to your role.
  • You will manage personnel assignments to the site, working closely with site management and the organizational structure.
  • Providing operational support to the site will be a key aspect of your responsibilities.
  • You will also coordinate project close-out activities for Construction & Commissioning, including capturing lessons learned.

Candidate Profile

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in civil, mechanical, or chemical disciplines is required.
  • Experience in construction management and on-site operations, particularly in large-scale plant construction within the chemical sector, is essential.
  • You should demonstrate the ability to work autonomously within proposal and contract teams while providing feedback to the Construction & Commissioning department.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to advocate for your interests in various situations are expected.
  • Proficiency in IT, particularly MS Office, is necessary, and familiarity with RIT iTWO and SAP daproh is advantageous.
  • Experience in a multinational and collaborative work environment is important, including regular electronic communication and potential business travel.
  • Fluency in English and German is required, with additional languages such as Spanish, French, or Arabic being highly desirable.
