Research Associate for Cluster of Excellence 'CUI: Advanced Imaging of Matter'

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team at the Cluster of Excellence 'CUI: Advanced Imaging of Matter'.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in machine learning algorithms applied to quantum systems, focusing on anyonic excitations and spin systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting research in machine learning algorithms for quantum systems
- Collaborating with team members from University of Hamburg and international partners
- Publishing findings in scientific journals and presenting at international conferences
- Contributing to the machine learning task force within the cluster of excellence
- Teaching four hours per week during teaching times
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A university degree in a relevant field
- A PhD in a relevant field or a strong record in scientific work equivalent to a PhD degree
- Fluency in English
- A proven track record of publications in relevant fields, especially quantum spin systems, quantum spin liquids, or related areas
- Initial experience in machine learning
- Strong analytical and numerical problem-solving skills
- Enthusiasm for international interdisciplinary research and collaboration
