Mission Operations Specialist

Job Title: Mission Controller
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mission Controller to join our team at Serco, a trusted provider of services to National Space Agencies and the European Space Agency (ESA). As a Mission Controller, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the mission control system, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of spacecraft.
Main Responsibilities:
- Operate the mission control system, including the ground segment and space segment, on a 24/7 shift basis.
- Configure and test the operational system to support mission operations.
- Take corrective action in case of ground or space segment anomalies, applying contingency/emergency procedures to ensure spacecraft safety and service provision to users.
- Participate in other operations-related activities, such as small system development, procedure development, and maintenance.
Requirements:
- Experience working with computer systems and PC literacy.
- Adaptability, self-discipline, and ability to work calmly and correctly under stress.
- Shift work and ability to fit in well within a small operations team.
- Solid background in a technical environment.
- Preferably a degree in a relevant subject, such as IT, Telecommunications, Physics, or Aerospace Engineering.
