The Department of Internal Medicine III is seeking applications for a PhD Candidate in Natural Sciences (M/F/D) specializing in human T-cell immunology. This position is initially limited to 2 years with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities: The selected candidate will engage in fundamental research focusing on human T cell tumor immunology, particularly concerning autoimmune disorders such as aplastic anemia. The research will utilize single-cell methodologies and various molecular biology techniques.
A significant aspect of this role will be to investigate the pathophysiological function of T cells in relation to molecular mimicry.
The research will be conducted within Prof. Leo Hansmann's team at Universitätsklinikum Regensburg as part of a collaborative research initiative.Focus Areas of the Doctoral Position: The ideal candidate should possess a strong interest in T-cell immunology and autoimmunity. Familiarity with immunology and molecular biology techniques (including multicolor flow cytometry, sequencing, and cell culture), as well as bioinformatics (R, Python), is advantageous. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently and adapt quickly to new technologies. Exceptional motivation and teamwork skills are essential prerequisites.
