Key Responsibilities:
As the Manager of the WAN Network Solutions Team, you will be accountable for:
- Overseeing the budget, performance, and outcomes of a medium-sized team, influencing resource allocation, budget planning, and policy development while setting clear growth objectives for team members.
- Formulating a mid to long-term vision for the team and business, contributing to departmental strategy with a comprehensive understanding of the industry landscape.
- Operating with a high degree of autonomy, addressing issues independently and escalating only when necessary.
Specific Duties:
- Manage various infrastructure components related to network platforms. The Platform Engineering role involves designing, building, and maintaining the foundational platforms for our solutions and services, transitioning from legacy systems to cloud-based environments.
- Lead, inspire, and develop team members, fostering a culture of engagement, high performance, and continuous improvement.
- Design and implement global wide area network services that align with established standards and business requirements, focusing on agility and efficiency.
- Drive the automation of WAN network services to facilitate a transition to a software-defined networking approach.
- Ensure the compliance and efficiency of internal and external technology solutions, enhancing the overall value chain.
- Support incident and problem management processes related to foundation services technology solutions.
- Translate internal and external customer needs into effective services.
Qualifications:
- A university degree in computer science or a related field.
Skills Required:
- Proven leadership and management capabilities.
- Ability to empower team members, facilitate development discussions, and manage relationships effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with network platforms and tools.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, CI/CD processes, and scripting languages such as Python and shell scripting.
- Experience with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Project management experience.
- Financial and business acumen.
Relevant Experience:
A minimum of 5 years in a similar role or extensive experience in project management or coordination within a large international organization.
