Position Summary
As a Lead Biotechnology Research Scientist (f/m/d) at our pioneering startup, you will take charge of cutting-edge biotechnology research initiatives. You will guide a team passionate about scientific innovation, particularly in the realm of ssDNA production, within an environment that fosters creativity, teamwork, and ongoing professional development. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in biotechnology and a proven history of contributing to major scientific progress in the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Advance research in high cell density E. coli cultivation and ssDNA production.
- Innovate and enhance large-scale biotechnological processes.
- Ensure production excellence and quality assurance within our biotechnology facility.
- Lead and motivate a team of proficient biotechnologists.
- Maintain rigorous standards for laboratory documentation, training, and records.
- Oversee the management of our microbial culture collection.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in biotechnology and integrate state-of-the-art techniques into research practices.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in biotechnology, molecular biology, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a biotech laboratory environment, preferably within the industry.
- Expertise in biotechnological techniques, with extensive knowledge of lab-scale bioreactors and high cell density E. coli cultivation.
- Proficient in molecular cloning, with experience in bacteriophages, specifically M13 filamentous phage and lambda phage.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a successful track record in team management.
- Open-minded, enthusiastic about continuous learning and mentoring.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in the German language.
- Experience with pilot-scale bioreactors (up to 200 L).
- Background in ssDNA scaffold production.
