Position Summary
As a Senior Biotechnology Research Scientist (f/m/d) at our pioneering startup, you will lead transformative biotechnology research initiatives. You will guide a team passionate about scientific innovation, particularly in the area of ssDNA production, within an environment that fosters creativity, teamwork, and ongoing professional development. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in biotechnology and a proven history of impactful contributions to the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Advance research in high cell density E. coli cultivation and ssDNA production.
- Innovate and enhance large-scale biotechnological processes.
- Maintain high standards of production and quality assurance in our biotech facility.
- Lead and motivate a team of proficient biotechnologists.
- Ensure meticulous laboratory records, training, and documentation.
- Manage our microbial culture collection effectively.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in biotechnology and integrate cutting-edge techniques into research practices.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in biotechnology, molecular biology, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a biotech laboratory, preferably in an industry setting.
- Expertise in biotechnological techniques, with a strong background in lab-scale bioreactors and high cell density E. coli cultivation.
- Proficient in molecular cloning and experienced with bacteriophages, particularly M13 filamentous phage and lambda phage.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a successful track record in team management.
- Positive, open-minded, and committed to continuous learning and mentorship.
- Fluency in English is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in the German language.
- Experience with pilot-scale bioreactors (up to 200 L).
- Background in ssDNA scaffold production.
