Position Summary
As a Lead Biotechnology Research Scientist (f/m/d) at our dynamic startup, you will take charge of cutting-edge biotechnology research initiatives. You will lead a passionate team focused on scientific innovation, particularly in the area of ssDNA production, within an environment that fosters creativity, teamwork, and ongoing professional development. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in biotechnology and a history of impactful contributions to the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Advance research in high cell density E. coli cultivation and ssDNA production.
- Innovate and enhance large-scale biotechnological processes.
- Ensure production excellence and quality assurance within our biotech facility.
- Inspire and guide a team of skilled biotechnologists.
- Maintain rigorous standards for laboratory documentation, training, and records.
- Oversee the management of our microbial culture collection.
- Stay updated on the latest biotechnology advancements and integrate new techniques into research practices.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in biotechnology, molecular biology, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a biotech laboratory, preferably in an industry setting.
- Expertise in biotechnological methods and substantial experience with lab-scale bioreactors and high cell density E. coli cultivation.
- Proficient in molecular cloning and experienced with bacteriophages, specifically M13 filamentous phage and lambda phage.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a successful track record in team management.
- Positive attitude, open-mindedness, and a commitment to continuous learning and mentorship.
- Fluency in English is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in the German language.
- Experience with pilot-scale bioreactors (up to 200 L).
- Background in ssDNA scaffold production.
