Global Banking Operations Specialist

In the Operations Outsourcing, Governance & Audit Management team, you will enhance and support processes related to governance and oversight, improve controls, and proactively address risks. OUR IMPACT
The Global Banking and Markets Operations division is a vibrant, multifaceted organization that collaborates with all areas of the firm to deliver banking services to clients globally. Additionally, the division plays a crucial role in risk management and controls to safeguard and enhance the firm's assets and reputation. For every new product introduced and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that facilitate business flow.
The Operations Outsourcing, Governance and Audit Management team in Frankfurt is integral to overseeing GSBE's outsourced functions and implementing relevant controls and processes across the legal entity governance. Specifically, this role involves partnering with all pertinent stakeholders locally and globally to ensure adequate oversight of related regulatory requirements, as well as the division's frameworks and internal governance from a legal entity standpoint. Our team is accountable for coordinating regulatory and statutory audits, as well as managing audit finding remediation. We assist Operations management in prioritizing business and information needs, enhancing Operations integration with key stakeholders to improve processes, controls, and services provided to and from GSBE. Ultimately, we oversee key projects that impact GSBE Operations horizontally. We are responsible for risk management functions and the development and execution of a robust governance framework.
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
- Contribute as part of our dynamic team to define and drive the strategic governance framework of the bank.
- Governance & Outsourcing Oversight:
- Assist in managing and enhancing the governance framework, including the preparation of KPI/KRI for outsourced activities, RCSA sign-off, periodic SLA reviews, and other inquiries.
- Investigate, remediate, and provide supervisory guidance on issues while developing control improvements, including the automation of manual processes.
- Strengthen integration with key stakeholders to enhance processes, controls, and services provided to and from GSBE, contributing to risk profile assessments by highlighting risk issues and trends to senior divisional managers.
- Support management in prioritizing business and information needs (ad-hoc inquiries, new product memo analysis, committee work).
- Contribute to the bank's risk mitigation programs.
- Audit Management: Coordinate Operations horizontal for regulatory and statutory audits, as well as manage audit finding remediation.
- Change Management: Support and oversee projects impacting GSBE Operations horizontally. Define and provide supervisory oversight for comprehensive project documentation in support of strategic initiatives and change management, including business/functional requirement documents, process flow diagrams, and comprehensive data analysis.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to comprehend complex workflows, coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate issues and ideas, providing timely escalation - capable of presenting with impact and influencing others, with the confidence to interact with auditors and regulators.
- Good interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with key stakeholders within and outside of Operations.
- Effective influencing skills to collaborate with other teams in challenging the status quo and continuously enhancing the required control environment.
- Flexible and able to perform well under pressure in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Active interest in understanding and learning about global financial markets.
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- A minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience in a control environment, risk management, oversight, or audit management role.
- Ability to comfortably and effectively interact with internal experts and various global stakeholders.
- Experience in engaging with regulators and/or auditors.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently.
- Experience and interest in data analysis, process automation, big data, or technical process efficiencies/BI tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- German language proficiency is a plus.
