We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team at the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) for a Master's project in the area of water treatment.
Project OverviewThe project focuses on the removal of organophosphorus pesticides from water using magnetic ion exchange resins with membrane techniques. The goal is to develop a hybrid experimental protocol for efficient pesticide removal.
Responsibilities- Conduct a literature review on the topic, including the occurrence of organophosphorus pesticides in surface waters and their properties.
- Perform filtration experiments and assist in quantifying trace amounts of pesticides in water samples.
- Analyze experimental data, write/co-author a research publication, and participate in team activities.
The ideal candidate will be studying for a Master's in Chemical, Process, or Environmental Engineering and have a strong interest in research. Basic knowledge of water chemistry, water treatment processes, and membrane technology is essential. The candidate should also have evidence of writing skills in English, ability to learn/use OriginLab for data analysis/graphing, and EndNote for literature management.
About the TeamThe research team is international, and the language is English. The project is hosted by the Institute for Advanced Membrane Technology (IAMT) at KIT, which has access to state-of-the-art research facilities.
