We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child Development Program Assistant to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a key member of our Child Development Program, you will play a vital role in ensuring the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual well-being of our children.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with Child Development standards and regulations.
- Assist in planning and conducting an effective child development program.
- Review and implement daily schedules and activity plans.
- Arrange the room and play materials to accommodate the daily schedule.
- Set up displays and bulletin boards.
- Help create adult-made games and play materials.
- Assist with developing a list of needed supplies and equipment.
- Complete and submit required reports in an accurate and timely manner.
- Participate in conferences with parents and supervisor.
- Interact with children during programmed activities.
- Use approved child guidance and caregiving techniques.
- Maintain continuous observation of children.
- Attend to the physical needs of the children.
- Help children develop self-help skills.
- Serve as a leader to a staff of Child Development Program Assistants.
- Completed apprenticeship as an Education Technician (Erzieher/in) or equivalent.
- OR Completed training as a Kinderpfleger/in with 1 year of job-related experience.
- OR E&T Levels IIIA and IVA with a completed apprenticeship in an unrelated field and 3 years of job-related experience.
- OR E&T Level IIIB and C with 3 years of job-related experience.
- OR E&T Level V with university or equivalent graduation in early childhood education and care.
- Valid driver's license class B.
- Office automation skills.
- English Language Proficiency Level C1 and German Language Proficiency Level A1.
The designated duty station is at present Vilseck. The future incumbent may be reassigned to another duty station within the same works council agency and commuting area. Personnel must be able to walk, bend, stoop, and stand for prolonged periods. They must also be able to lift 40 pounds.
