Job Summary

The Senior Payments Manager is a key member of the Omio team, responsible for delivering strategic objectives and key results in the Payments department. This role requires a strong leader who can drive continuous improvement and optimization in Payments, both operationally and strategically.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the roadmap and product discovery for the Payments team, with a focus on short and long-term success.
  • Balance the needs of customers, employees, and investors by driving continuous improvement in all three areas.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and optimization in Payments, conducting duties with a high standard of personal and professional behavior to inspire and challenge colleagues to achieve more.
  • Responsible for day-to-day coaching of the Payments team, including direct line management.
  • Lead and deliver on specific projects and initiatives as directed by management.

Specific Tasks/Missions

  • Support service provider relationships and negotiations (existing and new).
  • Coordinate and lead regular Business Review meetings with service providers.
  • Translate data analytics and reports into insights and recommendations to optimize customer experience, gaining buy-in from tech and product stakeholders and campaigning for product prioritization.
  • Perform reconciliation of payments, settlements, and payouts.
  • Produce regular written reports, presentations, intelligence, and insights on payments-related trends, including industry research, innovations, analysis, and horizon scanning for threats and opportunities.
  • Support the team with ongoing optimization of Payments strategies and projects, such as Global P&F strategy, Cost of sales strategy, Fraud and risk management strategy, and Customer Centricity.
  • Take a risk-based approach to strategic projects and initiatives, balancing business growth, acceptance, and cost optimization with risk perspectives such as fraud risk and customer impact.
  • Participate in relevant internal and external meetings and events, representing P&F interests.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant payments job functions.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in Payments/Fraud/Checkout with trends and regulations, such as chargebacks and PSD2.
  • Passionate about solving customer problems through building a simple and secure booking and payment flow using the power of technology and automation.
  • Data-savvy with experience in data querying and data analysis, proficient in Excel/Google Sheets, and SQL.
  • Able to measure the success of a feature post-delivery.
  • Experimental and data-driven approach, able to diagnose problems, trends, and recommend an action plan to resolve issues.
  • Passion for customer interaction and a desire to exceed customer expectations of the product.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to use data and set metrics to back up assumptions, evaluate outcomes, and further improve performance.
  • Proven track record in taking ownership, driving results, and moving with speed to implement ideas in a fast-paced online environment.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sales, design, data analytics, and finance teams to ideate, develop, and launch innovative user-facing features and internal tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing decision-making at all levels within an organization, and in a variety of contexts.
  • A degree in Business/Finance/Accounting is considered a plus.
