Job Title: Director of Direct Procurement

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the direct procurement operations for SYNLAB Deutschland.
  • Collaborate with the global procurement team of SYNLAB Group, reporting to senior procurement management.
  • Formulate and execute procurement strategies aimed at cost efficiency and supply chain reliability.
  • Scout for new suppliers while assessing the performance of current partners.
  • Recognize potential opportunities and challenges within the procurement landscape.
  • Encourage teamwork among the global procurement team, various departments, and operational procurement.
  • Administer the Salix and Pre-Sourcing processes at the national level.
  • Track and ensure adherence to the budget for direct procurement at SYNLAB Deutschland.
  • Accountable for both tactical and strategic procurement initiatives.
  • Lead local tender processes and negotiations while supporting global projects.
  • Negotiate contracts for all direct product categories.
  • Provide leadership and foster the development of procurement professionals.
  • Engage in workforce planning and promote a positive team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in procurement, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Background in diagnostics and/or healthcare is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and project management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset with a global perspective.
  • Fluency in multiple languages (English required), along with proficient MS Office skills.
  • Experience in Category Management and familiarity with international networks is advantageous.
  • Dependable, solution-focused, and collaborative.
