RheinCargo is a prominent private freight railway service provider operating within Germany's second largest inland port. Our extensive fleet includes 90 locomotives and 700 freight wagons, enabling us to transport over 20 million tons of goods each year while delivering a comprehensive array of modern harbor logistics solutions.
As a Locomotive Operator, you will be responsible for the independent operation of locomotives, both manually and via remote control. Your role will involve:
- Executing train journeys efficiently
- Sorting trains and groups of wagons at various facilities, including stations and container terminals
- Conducting necessary brake tests for train or shunting operations
- Performing thorough inspections of trains
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A completed training program in rail operations or a comparable qualification as a locomotive driver
- Authorization to operate diesel and electric locomotives, as well as remotely controlled shunting locomotives
- A valid driver's license for railway vehicles, along with extensive knowledge of railway operations and the transportation of hazardous materials
- Certification as a brake test conductor and wagon inspector
- Fitness for duty in accordance with railway safety regulations
- A valid driver's license
- Proficiency in the German language
- Basic IT knowledge
