Postdoctoral Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist to join our team at the Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum (DKFZ) in the Division of Personalized Medical Oncology. The successful candidate will have a strong research profile in personalized oncology and be able to independently carry out scientific projects and supervise junior scientists and technical staff.
Key Responsibilities- Conceptualize and develop own research projects
- Develop patient-derived model system platforms to predict response and overcome resistance
- Supervise Postdocs, PhD students, and technical staff
- Plan and manage research projects
- Apply for research grants independently
- Manage gene technology projects, including expertise according to §28 GenTSV
- Write research papers and present results in the academic community
We are looking for a candidate with a master's degree and a PhD, MD, or MD-PhD with a proven track record of research excellence and first-author publications. The ideal candidate will have a strong expertise in cancer biology, precision oncology, patient-derived model systems, cloning strategies, pre-clinical tumor models, protein biochemistry, molecular biology, single-cell technologies, and digital oncology. Experience in project management and leadership is an asset. Proficiency in German and English is mandatory.
