We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated employment attorney to become a part of our Global Employment Law team. This role emphasizes strategic project involvement, particularly in the realm of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and M&A transactions, while also providing legal guidance on everyday employee-related issues that arise within the organization. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with pioneering legal challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This is a full-time role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee global employment law initiatives, collaborating closely with your Global Employment Law colleagues, as well as ServiceNow's broader Legal and Global People teams. This includes projects addressing innovative challenges impacting ServiceNow, particularly in the AI sector.
- Provide counsel to key stakeholders on employment law and employee privacy matters, along with legal updates pertinent to the Artificial Intelligence domain.
- Deliver business-oriented, risk-balanced, and actionable legal advice on a comprehensive range of global employment law issues that may arise throughout the lifecycle of an M&A transaction, including deal structuring, due diligence, employee transfers, consultation obligations (including works councils), harmonization of employment terms and policies, lawful employee engagement across jurisdictions, and employee separations.
- Draft employment agreements, separation agreements, non-compete agreements, and other employee-related documentation necessary for M&A activities.
- Collaborate with and manage external legal counsel on M&A transaction matters.
- Work in partnership with the Global People organization from the inception of deals through post-acquisition integration to ensure alignment with legal requirements and ServiceNow's People Pact and values.
- Engage with key stakeholders to develop and refine scalable and compliant processes and playbooks for M&A and post-acquisition integrations.
- When not focused on strategic projects and M&A, provide business-oriented, risk-based legal advice on a wide array of employment law topics, including hiring, separations and dismissals, investigations, employee relations, restructurings, compensation and benefits, leaves of absence, DEI issues, and employee privacy matters.
- Contribute to the advancement of ServiceNow's Legal Services Delivery applications, where we envision, create, and implement workflows on the ServiceNow Platform to enhance the effectiveness of our legal departments and those of our clients.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A strong work ethic, exceptional judgment, and unwavering integrity.
- A law degree with excellent academic credentials.
- A minimum of 4 years of employment law experience at a prestigious law firm and/or in-house legal department of a multinational corporation (including advising on or managing advice across various jurisdictions); M&A experience is essential; familiarity with employee-related AI and data privacy issues is a plus.
- Robust project management skills and experience in handling complex global employment law projects, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
- The capability to cultivate strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across diverse geographical locations.
- The ability to analyze complex issues, assess risks, and provide clear, actionable, business-focused legal and risk mitigation advice, demonstrating sound judgment.
- A demonstrated global perspective.
