Program Overview
The Scalable Capital Graduate Program offers an exceptional pathway to commence your career in digital finance. Trading Track Details
The Trading Track within the Scalable Capital Graduate Program presents a distinctive opportunity to embark on a career in trading and capital markets, preparing you for a role at our expanding trading desk. This track is crafted for young professionals and (post-) graduates who are enthusiastic about financial markets and trading methodologies, with a natural inclination towards technology and programming languages.
Throughout the Trading Track, you will acquire comprehensive knowledge about capital markets, market structures (including various trading venues, on-exchange and OTC trading, execution strategies), and the complexities of our trading operations.
Rotation 1: Wealth Management
You will assist the Wealth Management team with ongoing research on the financial instruments traded by the desk, analyzing flows and trading metrics, while also contributing to the enhancement of in-house trading systems alongside the product, engineering, and trading teams. This involves conducting internal pre- and post-trade assessments and monitoring market conditions (FX, yields, spreads, etc.).
Learning Outcomes: Gain foundational knowledge and experience in on-exchange ETP trading, financial instruments, and the development of corresponding tools to ensure optimal execution quality.
Rotation 2: Trading
Following your initial exposure to trading in the Wealth Management team, you will join our trading desk, collaborating closely with fellow traders to manage the trading activities of our Wealth Management on a daily basis. You will operate and optimize our trading systems and order parameterization, working alongside our Financial Engineering developers. Continuous market monitoring, instrument analysis, and order management will be part of your responsibilities, alongside developing, evaluating, and implementing risk management practices.
Learning Outcomes: Acquire in-depth knowledge of the financial products we trade, their fair value calculations, and enhance your understanding of both on-exchange and OTC trading, including a comprehensive overview of market structures and trading techniques.
Rotation 3: Elective (Operations / Financial Engineering)
Operations / Securities Services: Gain an in-depth understanding of our platform and the processes involved in executing and processing millions of client trades annually. Assist in scaling operations by analyzing existing processes, identifying growth opportunities, and implementing enhancements to boost efficiency. Develop expertise in Securities Services while participating in daily activities and managing engaging projects.
Learning Outcomes: Broaden your knowledge in Securities Services, a specific aspect of Operations. Discover the significance of end-to-end ownership in a specialized area by developing or refining securities processes, analyzing data, and creating scalable solutions for our dynamic investment platform.
Financial Engineering: You will create fully automated trading algorithms managing substantial assets based on quantitative evidence. Daily challenges will include developing discretionary and B2B wealth allocation models, encompassing risk, cost, and tax optimization. You will customize smart rebalancing and cash-flow management strategies across various tax regimes in a serverless architecture, as well as develop interactive web dashboards for trade monitoring, historical analysis, and model validation.
Learning Outcomes: Learn to bridge the gap between research and application by productionizing econometric models that autonomously respond to market fluctuations and client requests across numerous individual portfolios. Master best practices in software development and seamlessly integrate production-level software into the R&D environment, while understanding agile methodologies and fostering a culture where the best ideas prevail.
Qualifications
Outstanding university degree in a relevant field (finance, science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or related) Enthusiasm for trading, global markets, and technology Understanding of financial products Strong analytical skills, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data for decision-making Attention to detail, capable of delivering under pressure, and drawn to a fast-paced and volatile environment Experience from internships in banking, proprietary trading, market making, or asset management Proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel and a penchant for programming languages (preferably SQL and Python); programming experience is a significant advantage Collaborative team player, ready to contribute to our trading desk Excellent communication skills in EnglishAdditional Information
