Position Overview
As a vital member of the Engine Team aboard, you will play a key role in:
- Facilitating the professional growth of engine room personnel through effective training and support, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations.
- Overseeing the maintenance of designated machinery and equipment both within the engine room and on deck, guaranteeing optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.
- Managing all administrative tasks related to the engine room to ensure organized and timely operations.
- Assisting the Chief Engineer and marine operations team to maintain a balanced workload and efficient operations.
Qualifications
- Proficient in English communication.
- Possession of a valid Certificate of Competency (STCW Reg III/2).
- Current Seafarer's Medical Certificate in accordance with ILO/IMO Guidelines.
- Training in Crisis Management & Human Behaviour (STCW Reg V/2).
- Completion of Basic Safety Training (STCW Reg VI/1).
- Certification in Proficiency in Survival Crafts & Rescue Boats other than fast rescue boats (STCW Reg VI/2).
- Advanced Fire Fighting certification (STCW Reg VI/3).
- Medical First Aid training (STCW Reg VI/4).
- Security Training for seafarers with designated security duties (STCW Reg VI/6).
- Technical expertise and the ability to meet the job requirements as outlined in the company's Safety Management System, reporting directly to the Chief Engineer.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Leadership qualities to inspire and mentor engineering officers and ratings under your supervision.
