Role Overview

As a Marine Engineering Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our vessels. You will work closely with the Engine Team, providing technical expertise and support across various areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training & Development: Contribute to the professional development of engine room personnel by delivering training programs that meet maritime regulations and industry best practices.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of assigned equipment, both within the engine room and on deck, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Administrative Support: Manage all administrative tasks related to the engine room, ensuring efficient record-keeping and timely completion of documentation.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with the Chief Engineer and Marine Operations team to ensure a balanced workload and seamless operational flow.
Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • A valid Certificate of Competency (STCW Reg III/2).
  • A valid Seafarer's Medical Certificate compliant with ILO/IMO Guidelines.
  • Relevant STCW certifications, including Crisis Management & Human Behaviour (Reg V/2), Basic Safety Training (Reg VI/1), Proficiency in Survival Crafts & Rescue Boats (Reg VI/2), Advanced Fire Fighting (Reg VI/3), Medical First Aid (Reg VI/4), and Security Training for seafarers with designated security duties (Reg VI/6).
  • Proven technical knowledge and ability to fulfill the requirements outlined in the company's Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Leadership qualities, capable of setting a positive example and mentoring engineering officers and ratings.
